Advancer Story Plan

Before I started my advancer story plan, I went through Mindy McAdams’ Online Journalism website for the best collection of tips. “Start here: How many types or formats do we have? Which one is best for each part of the story you have to tell text, photos, graphics, audio, video, user interaction.” said Maindy.STORY: Actually, my story is “How the media covers the election”. Maindy said it was important to raise the most eyes-attracted part. I will narrow my topic and focus on how Chan-Ip fight affects coverage. It is true that “story of the story”: 1) Is the spirit of political apathy being perpetuated by
Hong Kong news media in the case of the DC elections? the reasons behind the scene of very little in-depth coverage on the DC elections?
2) Why the local media doesn’t cover district council elections very much? DC election vs. Legco by-election (how Chan-Ip fight affects coverage)? 3) There is a trend that more and more candidates are emphasizing the key role of new media such as outdoor LED/LCD, election website. 4) Online election is or will be acceptable in
Hong Kong?

Interview:  journalists from newspaper like Mingpao and magazine like YAZHOUZHOUKANJournalists from TV like TVB;Journalists from New media like ONN(Outdoor News Network)Also I will interview foreign journalists and oversea media and candidates.

PHOTOS: Some efforts have been done to increase the publicity of the District Council Elections by the parties, like inviting pop singers Joey Yung and Hins Cheung to attend the opening ceremony. I will capture a chance to take photos on such kind of ceremony. I have already attended press conferences of DAB and Democratic Party and taken some photos, in particular, the Democratic Party held a press conference at the world trade center square in

Causeway
Bay. The background was a big LED. A candidate said they should pay attention to the key role of new media, but they ignored the significance of new media.
AUDIO: sound from journalists to explain how they prepare their reports and their comment about how Chan-Ip fight affects DC election coverage; sound from experts to explain why the local media do not want to cover DC election much and is there any room for them to improve and how else can media promote the awareness of DC electionssound from candidates about their feedback and comments.

This is a good start. I would like to get a better sense of how you plan to structure your report.
